Harambee Star Ouma's Partizan Transfer Fails, Future Remains Unclear

Harambee Stars midfielder Timothy OumaPlayer·Timothy Ouma finds himself in a precarious position as his proposed move to Serbian giants Partizan Belgrade has fallen through. The development leaves the Kenyan international without a clear club destination as the 2026/27 football season commences.

Ouma's immediate future is now in doubt, particularly after a highly successful 2025/26 campaign. During that season, he enjoyed a productive loan spell with Polish club Lech PoznanTeam·Lech Poznan, where he emerged as a pivotal figure. He made 34 appearances across all competitions, playing a significant role in Lech PoznanTeam·Lech Poznan securing the league title and, consequently, a coveted spot in the UEFA Champions LeagueCompetition·Champions League qualification rounds.

His parent club remains Czech giants Slavia PragueTeam·Slavia Prague, who initially acquired Ouma in January 2025 from Swedish club ElfsborgTeam·Elfsborg for a reported Ksh473 million. However, his time in the Czech Republic proved challenging, with the midfielder making only one senior team appearance in four months. This led to his loan move to Lech PoznanTeam·Lech Poznan at the conclusion of the 2024/25 season, aimed at securing consistent playing time.

The transfer to Partizan Belgrade, which reportedly included a clause for a permanent buy, ultimately did not materialise. According to reports, the Serbian club grew impatient during negotiations and subsequently opted to sign Ghanaian midfielder Iddrisu Baba instead. Partizan Belgrade's sporting director, Radosav Petrovic, had previously expressed considerable interest in Ouma's capabilities.

"We received excellent recommendations. There are many important details about him and we believe Ouma would mean a lot to us in midfield,"— Radosav Petrovic.

Despite the initial enthusiasm from Partizan's hierarchy, the deal's collapse now forces Ouma to reassess his options, with the transfer window progressing and his immediate club prospects unclear.
